102: 'The Broken'

The town of Hopefalls was founded in 1869 (although official records list 1882) when the soon to be Mayor William Pratchett was out hiking with his two sons and they discovered a church deep in the Fall woods. Pratchett's brother was involved in the building trade and set about to build a small community that was away from the hustle bustle of the cities.

In 1882 the small community was built and those who wished and had the funds moved in and all was happy and good.

In 1889, something fell from the sky and crashed into the church, all but destroying it. That something lay in the ruins of the church, half buried in the ground. It smelt like roses, and had a pink tint to it. Many of the townspeople thought it was a sign from God, a token of his love, a piece of his heart and the townspeople continued to worship at the church, worshipping the rock has if it was God himself.
