What - what - what is a Howler?

The moon light shimmers on the CLAWED HANDS that remain at its side. Its BODY is totally BLACK, it looks like it wares an all in one black body suit, but this could be its skin. Its FACE, not seen clearly in this light is pale, oval, with what appear to be black, BUTTON SHAPED EYES - they are not holes; they rest on top of the face, like buttons sewn on to material. The TEETH shimmer as they move, like large KNIVES lined up in a row, as it opens its mouth slightly, before snapping back its neck and letting out an ear piercing HOWL.

Above is an excerpt from episode two of Nowhere Land entitled 'I Think My Mind Must Be Broken'.

Kinda got back on track today with writing, spent the last couple of days rethinking the episode and blocking it out beat for beat. I think it works, i am just worried that it only being episode two i am showing too much, i am moving too much with the plot. But only eight episodes it needs to. i have characters, and although i don't need to rely on plot and this show is not a plot heavy show, in terms of plot only fuck the characters, this is a show that needs its characters to respond to the plot. Drama, basically. I have put someone into a new environment who knows noone and there fore needs a catalyst to move and react and live and breath. Besides, no plot, no story and no show, it would be boring and not worth writing. But at the same time character is very important, aside from the plot they drive it forward. you can't have one without the other is what i am gradually getting to. character and plot are one and the same, a character can be the plot and as this is all occuring inside the mind of the protagonist, never has this idea of charcter is plot been more true.

That thing Shakespeare wrote about children in King Lear...

The thing with writing - the thing that gets me is how much your work hates you. It absolutely hates your guts. It had no thought or concern about you what so ever. You spend, days, months, sometimes, more times than not, fucking years creating, moulding, shaping this thing into something that you are happy with, something you can sell, read, do whatever ever it is that you will do with it (and i am quite certain this applies to anything of creative/artistic merit)... basically you spend an inordinate amount of time through your love and affection, blood and sweat at it... then you are tired, clearly and obviously tired. You need a rest others it will get stagnent, loose its original purpose and become something other than you wanted it to be. The you go back to it, you are looking forward to going back to this world you have created, going back and finishing it, tidying it up. And what does it do to you, it fucking spits in your face, calls you a wanker, kicks dirt in your eyes, turns into a thankless fucking child.

In short, went back to carry on with episode two after having a break from it and it was the biggest pile of shit i have ever witnessed.

Started doing new draft today.

Fucking hot.

Difficult to write in heat.

Feel like melting, or dying, feel a bit sick actually.

Gonna turn of computer for a bit.

'Those Words In That Book... They're just words!'

Been ten thousand days since my last post, got caught up in life and work I guess. Lot of stuff has gone on recently and stinking work has fucked me off no end with stupidity and arse holeness (if that isn't a word, i am really not in the mood for giving two shits).Hopefully i am going to update a little more regularly from now on, but Stubbs the Zombie on Xbox has kept me busy and watching season 2 of twin peaks, and the first season of Oz and the second season of Lost and Veronica Mars and the fifth season of Angel... jesus i watch a lot of TV. Good Tv though.

Anyway, good news came my way a couple of weeks ago and that is....

NOWHERE LAND IS UNDER CONSIDERATION BY AN AGENCY!!!

That is about as excited as i am going to allow myself.

Anyway, episode two is almost complete and i have been hard at work on the first season or whole series depending on what happens (if anything). So structure has changed again and for the better and episode titles have changed. I decided to try something different with the episodes rather than one word things. Anyway, will have some more episode news soon if anyone cares, but here is the run down of the episodes up to episode seven, still thinking of eight at the moment, still trying to work out how it all ends.

101: pilot episode
102: 'I Think My Mind Must Be Broken'
103: 'You Are Who You Are, And Who You Are Is Ok'
104: 'My God Is Full Of Stars... Or Is That Lies?'
105: 'Those Words In That Book... They're Just Words'
106: 'Reflections In The Dark'
107: 'The Old Man At The End Of The Park'
108: To be considered (season/series finale)

Thats it, check out me links, they is interesting, you got all sorts there, comics, spoilers, friends exploring europe and graphic designer. Something for everyone me thinks.
